The Gadget Project

Do you enjoy tinkering and creating tangible products? Do you aspire to bring value to others? If you answered yes, we encourage you to participate in The Gadget Project.

The Center for Student Enterprises and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED) is sponsoring this inaugural competition is where students present a functional prototype -- the gadget -- to a panel of judges in hopes of winning prize money. So what is a gadget? We define it as follows: Gadget — A tangible tool or device that has a specific function or assists in completing a task. It cannot be a service, artistic work, food, or fashion.

For the competition, eight Berry students will work with mentors to develop their idea before the presentation date in February. Therefore, you do not have to have a working prototype or potential idea at this time. What we are looking for are students who like to build things and tinker with an idea. We will help with the rest.

Please know that the application deadline to be part of the competition is Friday, February 3rd,2023 by 5 p.m. Submit applications to cseed@berry.edu or  ilajara@berry.edu. Final presentations will take place on February 24, 2023 at 7 p.m.
