Cleopatra Mathis

Cleopatra Mathis has six books of poems and has won numerous prizes for her work, including two National Endowment for the Arts grants, the Jane Kenyon Award for Outstanding Book of Poems, two Pushcart Prizes, and The Robert Frost Resident Poet Award. She is the Frederick Sessions Beebe Professor of the Art of Writing at Dartmouth College, where from 1982 until recently she directed the Creative Writing Program. Read more about her at
