Your Virtual Experience

We're so excited you're joining us!

As the virtual format is new to most families, we compiled a list of best practice tips to keep you and your little ones engaged, and ensure you have the best experience possible.

Let's learn and grow together...digitally!

What to Expect in Class

When you sign on for a virtual class or playdate, we will begin with a few minutes to connect and talk with each other, and then we recommend that you mute yourself. Your Kindermusik Educator will lead you through the activities, and then you'll be able to follow them in your own way. The number one goal is connection and enjoying time together, so make the activity work for your child!

Feel free to hop on and hop off as needed—we know that life with a young child is full of unexpected surprises, and it's totally OK if you need to take a little break during class.

Tips for Online Learning with Little Ones

Have your computer plugged into the ethernet (if possible), or have your device close to the router so you have the best internet connection to avoid lagging.

Have as few distractions in the room as possible. If you can put toys away or cover items like we would in the classroom that would be helpful.

Your Kindermusik Educator will contact you prior to class to let you know what to specifically have for that day, but you can start by:

Gathering any instruments from around your house, or make your own.

  • Something to tap: drum, Tupperware, bowl or pan
  • Something to shake: maraca/shaker, dry rice or pasta in a container or spice shaker
  • Something to wave: a scarf or kitchen towel
  • Something to roll: inside safe ball

Note: you can also have child-safe, developmentally appropriate instruments delivered to your doorstep from the Kindermusik Online Store.

Everyone can join. Parents, nannies, siblings, pets...the more the merrier! If someone in your house plays an instrument, we'd love to hear it! Just let your teacher know at the beginning of class so we can plan it into the lesson time.

Online classes are not meant to be "screen time" or a "show" that your child watches, but rather a time to be together, break up your day, and spark some joy. In fact, Kindermusik virtual classes can totally be done without the children watching the screen at all if that's your preference! Just put your device somewhere out of THEIR view, but where you can still see it and follow along with the activities.

Camera use is up to you. You are welcome to set your camera to be on or off, it’s your preference.
