Christopher Browning Pavilion

The newest addition to the grounds of Oak Hill and The Martha Berry Museum represents a labor of love for alumni Al and Becky Browning Christopher. These loyal members of the Berry College class of 1961 dedicated time, talent and treasure to the facility that now bears their name, the Christopher Browning Pavilion.

Made possible by a $1 million gift from the couple, this beautiful 5,760-square-foot event facility is a showcase for Al’s considerable skills as an artist. In fact, he created many of the building’s most breathtaking elements at his woodworking shop in Florida. Guests marvel at the exposed juniper beams and full-lite exterior wooden doors, among other notable features.

Dedicated at Alumni Weekend 2018, the Christopher Browning Pavilion provides the perfect touch of elegance for weddings, corporate meetings and other events. Featuring a full catering kitchen and room for up to 300 guests, the facility can be used as an open-air pavilion or a closed, air-conditioned space.

With an exterior that matches the historic beauty of its surroundings, the facility enhances the ability of the Oak Hill estate to welcome alumni, friends and newcomers to Berry, just as founder Martha Berry did in the earliest days of her schools.
