Computer Labs


Computer Lab Reservation Policy 

Cook, Green, Laughlin and Moon laboratories may be reserved for class use during the day. A lab assistant will be required for all reservations after 5 PM. To reserve a lab for class meetings, Berry faculty and staff may use the Campus EMS site at  http://ems.berry.edu/virtualems/Default.aspx. You will receive a confirmation email when it has been reviewed and processed. Please submit reservation requests at least 3 days in advance. 

Computer Lab Usage & Priority Policy

Computer Lab use is granted on the following policy: 

  • Classes meeting in the lab as their regular meeting place
  • Classes reserved in the lab, confirmed through the campus EMS system (see above)
  • Classes wishing to use the lab that do not require the lab to close
  • Students using the lab for class or college purposes
  • Students using the lab for leisure or personal activities

A lab assistant is always present during all computer lab hours open for student use. They are there to monitor the lab, report technical issues, and assist patrons with basic functions. Lab patrons should abide by any request from the lab assistant. Any problem with lab assistants, or a lab without a lab assistant present, should be reported to the staff computer lab coordinator, Terri Sills, at  tsills@berry.edu. At no time are food or drink permitted in the computer labs. Failure to abide by this policy will result in removal from the computer lab.

Cook Computer Laboratory and Hours

This is a general access facility providing support primarily to the Charter School of Education and Human Sciences. Classes are conducted in this laboratory and have first priority, and the lab is available for faculty, staff and student use during all other open hours. Lab hours may vary by semester, but general hours for this laboratory are:

Laughlin Computer Laboratory and Hours

This is a general access facility providing support primarily to the Communications Arts and Fine Arts Departments, and the lab is available for faculty, staff and student use during all other open hours. Classes are conducted in this laboratory and have first priority. Lab hours may vary by semester, but general hours for this laboratory are:

This is a general access facility providing support primarily to the Campbell School of Business. Classes are conducted in this laboratory and have first priority, and the lab is available for faculty, staff and student use during all other open hours. Classes are conducted in this laboratory and have first priority, and the lab is available for faculty, staff and student use during all other open hours. Lab hours may vary by semester, but general hours for this laboratory are:

This is a general access facility providing support primarily to the Mathematical and Natural Science Departments. Classes are not conducted in this laboratory, and the lab is available for student use during all open hours. Lab hours may vary by semester, but general hours for this laboratory are:

Evans Mini Laboratory: The Evans Mini Lab is home to a small number of Mac and Windows workstations that is available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:45 pm. Contact  tsills@berry.edu for more information. 

Psychology Computer Laboratory: This is a small, six computer facility operated by the Psychology Department for its students. Contact  jpynn@berry.edu for further information. 

Integrated Languages Learning Laboratory: This specialized laboratory in Evans Hall has twenty-one integrated mobile stations, each with a PC, VCR, bar coded video disk player and audio system which enables both individual and classroom instruction in foreign languages. The stations are connected to the data network and thus have access to the Internet, E-mail with overseas students, and electronic access to foreign newspapers. The lab has a Sony System LL-9000 which includes 20 student audio stations and 10 desk-imbedded video screens. The facility is located in Evans 102 and is open most days from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Contact canton@berry.edu for further information.
