Student Life

Dean of Students Office

There’s something about the Berry community — The warmth of our campus culture. The sense of shared ownership and pride. As a valued member of the Berry family, you'll find a comfortable place to explore your interests, express your ideas and practice your beliefs. Whatever your background or academic focus, your life in this community will be filled with excitement, friendship and support.

From student government and performance ensembles to faith-based clubs and intramural sports to professional organizations and social service efforts, you’ll have constant opportunities to satisfy your curiosity, launch new ventures and join forces with others who share your interests.

Life on Campus

With almost 90% of students living on campus, Berry is known for its residential experience. You’re a name, not a number. You’ll find opportunities to thrive — working, studying, connecting, collaborating, serving and playing in a caring, supportive community.

In this home-away-from-home atmosphere, your overall well-being and safety are top considerations. We offer access to professional healthcare through our Health Center and Counseling Center plus ways to work out at our fitness center and unplug through recreation. As for convenience, you’ll find essentials right here — dining options, post office and bookstore.

Activities and Organizations

Getting plugged in at Berry is easy! The hard part is deciding how you want to invest your time, as we have numerous ways for students to connect within campus life and explore all that Berry has to offer. Many departments and student groups coordinate events, programs and services that provide students with opportunities to explore 27,000 acres, enjoy student traditions, pursue ways to lead and serve, get involved on campus and in the community, meet people and experience life as a Berry Viking.

Campus Recreation

No question — Berry is a campus of stunning beauty where you can relax, connect with nature, engage in team sports, stay fit and challenge yourself through leadership and team-building experiences. The Department of Recreation fosters community by facilitating leisure pursuits, providing opportunities to meet others with similar interests and promoting ways to maintain or improve personal health and well-being.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Office of Diversity and Belonging serves the campus in envisioning and implementing how diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) are accomplished sustainably at Berry. We believe that it is possible to achieve a Culture of Belonging by imagining what would happen if every person at Berry cared about DEIB and worked on the same page toward the same end.

Campus Events

With so much happening on campus, we’ve created ways to help keep your schedule up to date. Find what you need fast on Berry’s calendars — whether you’re looking for details on cultural events, graduation, recreation planning or Berry traditions like Mountain Day. Sponsoring an event and need equipment? Campus reservations has you covered.
