GETTING STARTED

Thank you for being a community partner and providing our staff and students opportunities to serve the community. Our office will work with you to provide volunteers and support for your various events, services, and activities.

You can contact us via phone or e-mail to provide information about your particular event, service, or other program in need of volunteers. The BCVS office will make these opportunities available to our students, faculty, staff or groups on campus. For your convenience, you can submit a service request online. All requests must be received a minimum of two weeks prior to the email being sent out (each Thursday). You may also provide our office with any informative materials such as brochures, packets, or registration forms detailing your organization’s mission, opportunities, and/or events by sending them to:

MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY

Make a Difference Day is an annual service day held on the third Saturday of October. Berry has participated in the service day for many years, and it is the longest standing tradition hosted by Volunteer Services. Every year, hundreds of students gather to serve the community, working with various organizations to improve Rome and Floyd County! Additionally, students host an annual Trunk or Treat event and invite children from the community to participate in a safe Halloween experience.

MLK DAY of Service

In collaboration with the Corporation for National and Community Service, BCVS hosts the annual MLK Day of Service, “A Day On, Not a Day Off.” MLK Day is held annually on Martin Luther King, Jr, Day, in January. This day is part of a challenge issued by the President to bring people of all walks of life together to serve neighbors and community members. Berry College participates by working at various locations to answer Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s question, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?”
