Dr. Christian Wells
Dean of Students
Dr. Christian Wells is the Dean of Students at Berry College. She serves as the Title IX Coordinator, oversees Residence Life, and New Student and Family Orientation. She has over seventeen years of experience in Housing and Residence Life and Student Affairs. She has extensive experience in training student and professional staff, crisis management, student conduct, Title IX and professional development. Dr. Wells earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (Chattanooga, TN), a Master of Science- College Student Personnel Services and Administration from the University of Central Arkansas (Conway, AR) and a Ph.D. in Higher Educational Leadership from Mercer University (Atlanta, GA). Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, watching reality television and singing karaoke.
Kate Jackson (27c)
Student Director of New Student Orientation
Kate Jackson is a senior Music Education major from Midland, GA. She serves as the SOAR Student Director of New Student Orientation and works as a faculty assistant and Kindermusik student worker while also conducting undergraduate research on campus. She performs in multiple ensembles on clarinet and upright bass and is actively involved on campus as a Gate Scholar, Evans Ambassador, and Treasurer of Sigma Alpha Iota.
Caroline Powell (28c)
Manager of SOAR Logistics and Operations
Caroline Powell is a junior Music Performance major from Woodstock, GA. She serves as the Logistics and Operations Manager for SOAR, helping coordinate and execute New Student Orientation. She is involved in Berry Singers and Opera Company, bringing both organizational leadership and artistic excellence to campus.

Ian Lively (27c)
Ian Lively is a senior Biology major with a Chemistry minor from Dalton, GA. He serves as a Biology Lab Associate and is a teaching assistant for Zoology. He is passionate about helping his peers engage with hands-on scientific learning and supporting their success in the lab.
Charlotte Bacho (29c)
Charlotte Bacho is a sophomore Exercise Science major with a Psychology minor from Sharpsburg, GA. She is actively involved in Pre-Health Professionals, the Allied Health Club, Berry Catholic Union, Berry Ambassadors, the Emerging Leaders Program, and the Admissions Social Media Team. She enjoys connecting with others and sharing her enthusiasm for campus involvement and leadership.
Aiden Kanclerz (28c)
Aiden Kanclerz is a junior Nursing major from Braselton, GA. He is a member of the Men’s Soccer Team and participates in Campus Outreach and Run Club. He also works as an intramural assistant and referee, helping support campus recreation and student engagement.
Paige Crooks (29c)
Paige Crooks is a sophomore Economics major from Smyrna, GA. She is involved in Common Worship and serves as Treasurer for the Art Society Club. She is also a Student Ambassador for the Admissions Office, where she enjoys welcoming prospective students to campus.
Lynda Arroyo-Flores (28c)
Lynda Arroyo-Flores is a junior Psychology and Spanish double major from Rome, GA. She is involved in Orgullo (a club celebrating Latino and Hispanic cultures) and is passionate about mental health advocacy through campus programming and outreach. She serves as a Peer Educator with the Counseling Center, works as a CNA at The Spires, and is a Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholar.
Brian Jones (29c)
Brian Jones is a sophomore Communications and Management double major from Snellville, GA. He is an active member of SGA and the Drumline. He also works as a sportswriting assistant for the Berry Athletic Department, combining his interests in athletics and storytelling.
Sharhya Clark (29c)
Sharhya Clark is a sophomore Political Science major with a Legal Studies minor from Acworth, GA. She is involved in the Black Student Association (BSA) and works as a Classroom Assistant at the South Rome Early Learning Center. She is passionate about education and supports young learners in her community.
Mary Angel Castillo Obando (28c)
Mary Angel Castillo Obando is a junior International Affairs major with a Dance minor from Guanacaste, Costa Rica. She is involved in the Berry Dance Company, Model UN, and NDEO. She also works across campus as a research assistant, Spanish instructor, Registrar’s Office assistant, and plumbing shop student worker.
Beca Gazaway (27c)
Beca Gazaway is a senior Elementary Education major from Rome, GA. She works with the Office of Accessibility Resources. She is dedicated to helping create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Mackenzie McGrath (28c)
Mackenzie McGrath is a junior Music Education major from Richmond Hill, GA. She is a member of the Berry Singers and works with Campus Carrier (Berry’s newspaper). She also serves as a Resident Assistant and assists with Berry College Elementary and Middle School choir and steel drums programs.
Semora Brabson (29c)
Semora Brabson is a sophomore Pre-nursing major from Dalton, GA. She is involved in Orgullo (A club celebrating Latino and Hispanic Cultures), SGA, TRIO, and Student Support Services (SSS). She also serves as the Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for the Gate Scholarship Leadership Team, where she promotes leadership initiatives.
Michael Vaughns (27c)
Michael Vaughns is a senior Creative Technologies major from Augusta, GA. He works in Facilities Services as an event setup student supervisor. He plays a key role in preparing campus spaces for events and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Jeremy Price (29c)
Jeremy Price is a sophomore Political Science major with a Legal Studies minor from Rome, GA. He is involved in SGA, intramural sports, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also serves as an Admissions Ambassador, SGA Office Assistant, and Gate Scholar, demonstrating strong leadership across campus.
Helen Wesley (29c)
Helen Wesley is a sophomore Psychology major from Cedartown, GA. She is a member of the Berry Cross Country and Track & Field teams and participates in the Honors Program. She also works as a KCAB Event Assistant, helping bring campus events to life.
Tarian Askew (27c)
Tarian Askew is a senior Biochemistry major from Rome, GA. He is a Gate Scholar and a returning SOAR Leader. He is excited to welcome new students and share his experience and knowledge of campus life.
Shelley Holman (27c)
Shelley Holman is a senior Spanish major from Canton, GA. She is involved in EMPOWER (Women and Gender Studies Club), the ESL Program, Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish Honor Society), and Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honor Society). She is passionate about language, education, and supporting students from different cultures.
Sarah Escamilla (27c)
Sarah Escamilla is a senior Nursing major from Mexico City, Mexico. She serves as Head of Fundraising for Partners in Health and is an active member of the Berry College Student Nursing Association. She is also a Nursing Department Ambassador and Lab Associate, soon stepping into a student supervisor role.
Marcus Muriithi (28c)
Marcus Muriithi is a junior Biochemistry major from Acworth, GA. He is a Gate Scholar and a dedicated leader in SGA, having served as Freshman and Sophomore Class President and recently elected Junior Class President. He also works as Assistant Director of the Berry Journey and is involved in several health-focused organizations, including Allied Health, YPI (Young Physician’s Initiative), and the Neuroscience Association.
