Student-Operated Enterprises represent an exciting component of Berry’s premier student work experience program. The program involves the development and ongoing operation of campus enterprises by student teams with a staff or faculty co-manager. These student-operated enterprises include businesses distinct to Berry; however students are also creating new enterprises based on their own areas of interest. Currently, sixteen enterprises are up and running.

Student-Operated Enterprises - Guiding Principles

  • Provide students with an entrepreneurship ‘laboratory’ in which to run small businesses as if they own them.
  • Encourage enterprise students to generate revenues to help offset student work wages.
  • Provide students with opportunities for higher level leadership positions, with increasing responsibility within the student work experience program.
  • Provide students with increased opportunities to learn entrepreneurial, business and transferable life skills.
