Hello from the Berry Farms AgriEducation Team

Thank you for scheduling a tour with The Berry Farms AgriEducation Enterprise. We are excited for you and your group to visit at Berry College and participate in one of our agricultural tours. This website contains information that will help you prepare for your tour with us. Click on the RESOURCES tab  to find a list of games and activities, websites, and videos that you can use in the classroom to help prepare your students for what they will learn on the tour. We try to fit as much as we can into your tour, so your students will benefit if they come with some basic background information. Wildlife Tour 

Our programs take place near Viking Trail on Berry College's campus. Participants will have the chance to learn about wildlife topics that can be applied to their own backyards and discuss certain points with the tour guides, such as:  

  • Habitat
  • Identifying wildlife
  • Local animal species (armadillo, skunk, deer, opossum, raccoon, coyote)
  • Why these animals may appear in your backyard

    My Backyard programs includes educational activities that will enhance your program experience. 


    Our tours begin at the Berry Farm’s Rollins Beef Unit. Children will have a chance to interact with the animals as well as discuss certain points with the tour guides, such as:

    • Calf care
    • Nutrition
    • Reproduction
    • Lactation cycle
    • Heifer development 
    • Milking process
    • The Jersey breed
    • Cow comfort
    • Other various topics depending on the age/needs of the group

    Participants will be allowed to interact with both cows and calves at various times throughout the tour under the supervision of a highly trained tour guide.
