Q. Where is the Writing Center?
A. The Writing Center is on the second floor of Memorial Library.

Q. Can the Writing Center Proofread my paper?
A. The Writing Center seeks to assist writers in taking their compositions to the next level. Therefore, students who come to the Writing Center should bring their draft and be prepared for revision. Writing tutors will happily help tutees to strengthen their writing by teaching a number of proofreading and revision methods.

Q. Do I have to make an appointment or can I just walk in?
A. We highly encourage appointments, because it guarantees that you will be able to meet at the time you need and with the tutor you want, but we would be happy to assist walk-in students as well.

Q. Do I have to have an account to make an appointment?
A. Yes, but it is a simple process. Just go to and hit the "Click here to register." Fill out the information and then log in. 

Q. Can you work with other disciplines besides English?
A. Yes, we are happy to work with writing assignments from any class. 

Q. Can the Writing Center help me with resumes and personal statements? 
A. The Writing Center is happy to help with resumes and personal statements at any time when writing is the focus. 

Q. Can you assist me with my lab reports?

A. Yes, we can work with the writing aspects of lab reports. If you would like to work specifically with a tutor trained in the sciences, check out the biographies listed under the tutors' names when you click to make an appointment with each one on Our goal is to assist you with all of your writing. However, there are subject tutors available at the Berry College Academic Success Center. 

Q. Do I have to have a completed draft before making an appointment?
A. No, we are trained to assist you at any point during the writing process, including understanding the prompt, brainstorming, outlining, research skills, thesis construction, paragraph formation, introductions and conclusions, ESL writing concerns and formatting. Feel free to come see us regarding any question you have related to your writing assignments.
