Dr. Eliana Hirano joined the Teacher Education faculty of Berry College in 2012, after obtaining her Ph. D. in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University. She is currently an associate professor and the coordinator of the minor in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. The courses that she teaches regularly are Introduction to Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition and Development, and TEFL Practicum. She also teaches Explorations in Diverse Cultures, taking students off campus in the summer. She has led groups to Ecuador and to the Global Village Project, in Decatur, GA. She enjoys working with students in the classroom and on research, having presented and published with undergraduate researchers.
