Marshall Chapman

Marshall ChapmanMarshall Chapman is a singer-songwriter-author who was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. To date she has released twelve critically acclaimed albums. Her first book, Goodbye, Little Rock and Roller (2004, St. Martin’s) was a SIBA bestseller, SIBA Book Award finalist, and one of three finalists for the Southern Book Critics Circle Award. She also is the author of They Came to Nashville (2010, Vanderbilt UP), also a SIBA Book Award finalist. She is a contributing editor to Garden & Gun and Nashville Arts Magazine and has written for Southern Living, The Oxford American, and other magazines. She performed her musical Good Ol’ Girls with co-writers Lee Smith and Matraca Berg at the Southern Women Writers Conference in 2000.
