Short Bio

Sean Thrower is a performing, concert musician and teacher with experience in a variety of playing styles.  He performs regularly as a solo classical guitarist, as well as in ensembles and bands. Notable Performance experiences include multiple masterclasses for Grammy Award winning artists including, Jason Vieaux, Pepe Romero, David Russell, and Sheron Isbin.

While at the University of Georgia, Sean studied under renowned pedagogue, John Sutherland (a protege of Andres Segovia), performed as solo guitarist with the UGA Symphony Orchestra and combined choirs, and gave a performance as guitarist for the UGA Men’s Varsity Singers.

During Sean’s graduate studies, he taught Guitar Methods (MUSI 3400) at UGA under an assistantship.  Currently he is Professor of Guitar at Berry College and founder of the Rome Guitar Institute.
