Macquarie University is located in Sydney, the largest city in Australia, and one of the most multicultural cities in the world. Sydneysiders come from 180 different countries, and Macquarie University aims to increase the diversity by coordinating with students from all around the world. The Macquarie University campus is situated in the middle of 135 hectares of beautiful parkland, adjacent to Australia’s premier high technology precinct, and only about a 30 minute drive from Sydney Harbour.
Programs of Study
Macquarie University was rated one of the top 200 universities in the world by The Times' Higher Education Supplement 2007. Due to its close proximity with the premier high technology precinct, Macquarie offers excellent experiences for the technologically inclined; however, Macquarie is also noted for offering a wide range of study programs in order to accommodate those that are not as technologically inclined, such as: business, economics, education, law, science, psychology, and philosophy, alongside many others. Macquarie University's business program is AACSB accredited, as is Berry's.
Macquarie University offers on-campus residential accommodations, and there is off-campus apartment housing found in the suburbs surrounding the campus as well. Rooms available on campus are ensuite singles (including personal bathroom), regular singles, and shared doubles. Residence halls have both single sex and mixed corridors. Apartments include kitchen appliances, laundry appliances, a couch, a t.v., a dining table, and a desk, single bed, and wardrobe in the bedroom.
Students pay Berry tuition and Macquarie's housing without meals fee. Housing prices may vary depending on what kind of room you choose to stay in and which building you prefer. Applicants must have completed a full year of studies at the university/college level and attained a minimum of 2.5 GPA in order to be considered by the admissions.
Macquarie's semester 1 runs February through June; semester 2 runs July through December. Be mindful of this as you search for classes.
