There's only one way to experience college - firsthand.
Before you register, please read our Discover Berry FAQs:
Q. Who can come to this event?
A. Discover Berry is designed as an introductory event for high school or transfer students and families who are just beginning their college search. Specifically, the spring event is designed for high school sophomores and juniors. Discover Berry offers a snapshot look at first-year experience, academics and campus life opportunities, student life and work experience, admissions and financial aid.
Q. When and how should we register?
A. Registration for fall events typically opens in mid-August, and registration for our spring event typically opens 4 weeks prior to the event. When registration opens, we recommend registering online as soon as you know your availability, as our events do sometimes fill up in advance. We typically close registration at least two days before each event. Online registration is the best way to ensure that we get complete information to prepare for your Discover Berry visit. If you have any problems with the online form, please give us a call.
Q. I'm planning to bring friends/siblings/family members who are also prospective Berry students. How should they be registered?
A. We prefer that each prospective student register for the event separately. This will allow us to be prepared with a personalized information packet when you arrive for check-in. **PLEASE NOTE THAT A DIFFERENT EMAIL ADDRESS SHOULD BE USED FOR EACH REGISTRATION.
Q. What will students do at Discover Berry?
A. You will attend information sessions on the first-year experience program, admissions and financial aid. You will meet with a panel of current Berry students to ask questions about student life, attend a showcase featuring representatives from all of our academic programs and campus life areas, eat lunch with us and take a walking tour of our main campus. Click here to view a schedule of the day’s activities.
Q. What will my parents do?
A. Your parents will get to do everything you do, though students and parents will attend some sessions separately.
Q. Is there a cost to attend Discover Berry?
A. No. You and your family are invited to join us free of charge. Coffee/juice/water will be available at no cost during check-in, and we will provide lunch for our guests in the campus dining hall. Specialty coffee and other snack items will be available for purchase if desired.
Q. I’ve already been to Discover Berry. Will this one be any different?
A. Not really – our Discover Berry programs are pretty standardized. We always welcome return visitors, but if you’re looking for another way to visit campus, you should think about coming for an individual visit on a weekday (and most Saturdays during the school year). You can schedule an individual visit by clicking here.
Q. I’ve already been to Berry for an individual visit. Should I still come to Discover Berry?
A. Absolutely! Discover Berry offers you the chance to meet a lot of people you may not have met while you were here for your individual visit. It’s a great way to explore our academic programs and campus life areas and interact with a number of current students.
Q. I’ve already applied to Berry and been accepted. Can I still come to Discover Berry?
A. The information presented at Discover Berry is designed for students who are just beginning the college search process. If you have already been accepted, we encourage you to think about coming for an individual visit or attending our Decision Berry event designed by Berry students to help you make your college decision. These options will give you more in-depth information that you may need if you are further along in the admissions process.
Q. What if I have a question about the event that hasn't been answered here?
A. Please contact Kinsey Stout, Assistant Director of Operations, at
