Students Giving Back

A new student philanthropy program – Firsthand4You – has made Berry students more aware of the many kinds of support alumni and friends provide to Berry students. It also has encouraged students to express gratitude for that support and to begin to give back regularly to benefit the students who will come after them.

In the program’s first year of operation, seniors tripled the class gift made the year before (and snagged a challenge pledge gift from the Advancement Committee of the Berry College Board of Trustees). They also participated in many activities centered on philanthropy, including creating class banners signed by all participants. The part of the program many enjoyed most was writing thank you notes to alumni and friends of the college.
