The Berry College Dance Troupe recently presented their spring performance “Vitality” in an array of styles.
Dances ranged from hip-hop to salsa to contemporary and interpretive styles with an eclectic show of costumes and music selections. The show also featured a Michael Jackson impersonator, a brood of hungry vampires, dancers dressed in scrubs, sultry salsa pairs and graceful symbols of women suffering and escaping domestic abuse.
“Performing is one of my favorite things to do and it was a great joy to perform with friends that I have become so close to,” said sophomore Caroline Fagan, a dancer and choreographer. “It was also encouraging because we had a huge audience for each performance."
While some topics were weighty, each one pointed to a different aspect of strength. There were representations of the strength of women, the strength of attraction, the strength of following your passion and more. Overall, “Vitality” showed how strength gives way to realizing the fullness in life.
