Berry College Dining Services is hosting the South Region ARAMARK Culinary Excellence competition on Friday (April 27.)
The competition recognizes and rewards outstanding chefs throughout ARAMARK Higher Education programs and provides the opportunity for the chefs to demonstrate their culinary expertise in a competitive and engaging dining environment.
“We are excited to host this year’s Regional ACE Culinary finals and
provide these talented chefs with an outlet to display their culinary
creativity and expertise,” said Fraser Pearson, Director of Dining
Services - Berry College. “We look forward to students, administration
and the Berry community attending the competition to support their
favorite chef!”
More than 150 ARAMARK chefs from colleges, universities and conference centers across North America are expected to compete in the 2012 ARAMARK Culinary Excellence program for the chance to win the coveted “Copper Pot” at the ACE National Challenge, the culmination of the overall competition.
The South Region finals at Berry will begin at 8:30 a.m. This event will feature the following top higher education chefs:
Each of the participating chefs has been selected because he or she consistently strives for culinary excellence and is focused on surpassing customers' expectations with great meals. Each regional competition features nine chefs who will present a three course meal to three judges. The chefs have four hours to prepare their meals from prep to finish. Members of the
Berry community are encouraged to attend the culinary competition to witness this extraordinary event.
The top three finalists from each of regions will then compete at the ARAMARK Culinary Excellence National Challenge to be held later this year and simulcast live online.
