Dr. Sands is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Department Chair.  He also serves as the College Pre-Law Advisor and advisor to the Mock Trial team.  Dr. Sands has a broad spectrum of teaching and research interests including political parties, Tocqueville, American Political Thought, Ancient Political Thought, and Constitutional Law.

Dr. Call teaches courses in Comparative and American Politics and her research focuses on democratic backsliding and populism. She completed her PhD in Political Science at Syracuse University in 2024.

Dr. Gawronski teaches a broad array of courses, especially in the political science subfields of international relations and comparative politics. His research focuses on the politics of disaster, hazard vulnerabilities, forced migration, crime, and violence. He has conducted field research in several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Kirsten Taylor is the Dean of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, the Dana Professor of Political Science and International Affairs, and faculty advisor to Berry’s Model United Nations club. Her teaching and research interests include international security, global environmental politics and law, US foreign policy, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
