Studied in Romania, Summer 2010
Archaeological intern dig team in the Carpathian Mountains above Soimeni. We were unearthing Bronze Age remains on fortress hill, with Archaeotek and Romanian correspondents. We also learned how to sketch and map out an area, and how to make pottery with a clay oven from the Romanian dig leader. With herds of sheep passing through camp in the morning, and local shepherds trading fresh milk and crops, it was an experience well worth remembering. While not done justice in this photo, the natural scenery was overwhelming.
