A Berry Christmas

Christmas came early this year as the Berry College Dance Troupe and a collaboration of local dance studios, preformed three shows of “The Nutcracker” before Thanksgiving break to help students get in the holiday spirit.

The Berry College choirs, orchestra and trumpet ensemble performed for the annual Lessons & Carols service at the College Chapel. Though it was a rainy night, people packed the chapel to listen and sing along with hymns and traditional Christmas songs.

The Berry College Theatre Company along with EasyBake Improv group wrote and performed the comedy show “A Crumbly Christmas Carol.” Entry for the show was a donation with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Hospital and a total of $566 was raised.

Oak Hill and The Martha Berry Museum hosted the 29th annual Candles & Carols. The night included open house tours of Oak Hill, the Berry College Musical Ensembles and the Berry Elementary School Choir performing Christmas music, Christmas cookies and pictures in a sleigh with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

“Candles and Carols at Oak Hill has been one of my favorite traditions at Berry,” said senior Allyson Cole. “Seeing the campus all decorated helps make finals week a little bit happier.”
