Faculty artist performs at Berry

A Berry College Artist Affiliate of Clarinet performed March 17 at the Bell Recital Hall at Ford Auditorium.

Amy Humberd presented an exciting evening of selections from new works and old favorites. The program highlighted lesser-known gems of the clarinet repertoire, including music by Malcolm Arnold and Witold Lutosławski.

The program also featured a recent piece by up-and-coming clarinetist and composer Luke Ellard and concluded the night with an old favorite by Johannes Brahms.

Humberd has appeared throughout the United States and Europe as a soloist and chamber musician. In 2017, she showcased her Carnegie Hall debut as the second prize winner of the Concert Artists International Virtuoso Competition.

Humberd earned a B.M. in music education and a B.A. in psychology from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. She went on to earn both an M.M. and Performer’s Diploma in clarinet performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington. Humberd recently received her doctoral degree from Florida State University.
