Berry Athletics Director Named President of Administrator Association

Berry College Director of Athletics Angel Mason has been named president of the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators.

"I'm deeply honored to have been selected to lead my D-III colleagues during the 2023-24 academic year," said Mason. "As we move into a new academic year, one of my goals as NADIIIAA President will be to focus our organization's attention on building a strong, united future for Division III and our NADIIIAA membership."

Mason, who came to Berry in 2019, is one of the few female African American athletic administrators who lead a department nationwide, Mason was the Nike Executive Director of the Year for NCAA D-III colleges in 2022-23 as selected by Women Leaders in College Sports.

Berry's athletic director will lead a newly expanded NADIIIAA Board of Directors. The new board also features three vice presidents, six at-large members, and the immediate past president.

Mason will be leading the board and NADIIIAA on the following overarching topics for the athletic year:

  • Growing athletics director leadership and involvement
  • Increasing overall membership
  • Surveying the membership to add value
  • Strengthening and expanding collaborative efforts to enhance the voice of the membership
  • Enhancing programming to strengthen the pipeline for all Division III administrators. Intentionally focus on senior woman administrators, ethnic minorities, and skilled support staff positions (i.e., sports information and sports medicine).

"It will take all of us to move our organization and Division III athletics forward," said Mason in a letter to the NADIIIAA constituency.
