Berry Wins Top Awards at National Collegiate Sports Sale Championship

Four Berry College students recently took home top awards at the 2023 National Collegiate Sports Sale Championship.

The National Collegiate Sports Sale Championship invites hundreds of students nationwide to showcase their sports sales skills in a roleplay competition. Hosted by Baylor University and the Atlanta Hawks, the competition ranked students in a bracket based on their ability to sell products, run meetings, and pitch to business professionals.

The ticket sales competition entails students running a face-to-face sales meeting where they promote Atlanta Hawks ticketing packages to potential buyers. Courtney Mosher, a marketing major from Austin, Texas, placed first in the ticket sales category. Madison Letts, a marketing major from Atlanta, placed in the Sweet Sixteen for ticket sales.

The corporate partnership division requires students to role-play as account executives and pitch a partnership to the Atlanta Hawks.

Will Herrington, a marketing major from Marietta, Georgia, placed in the top eight. Handley Owens, a marketing major from Jackson’s Gap, Alabama, placed in the top 32.

Berry College placed sixth overall for the speed sell team challenge, where students present their personal elevator pitches to recruiters and sponsors.
