Richards Grant

Richards Grant

The Richards Grant supports superlative students that propose ambitious but achievable two-year projects of scholarly or artistic merit.  Funded proposals display strong potential to create an original scholarly or artistic contribution as defined by their discipline.  Funding may be used for conference travel.  Faculty mentors receive $1,000 to mentor Richards Scholars.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have completed 24 credit hours at Berry, be a rising sophomore or junior, and be a full-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants typically apply during their sophomore year to fund a project completed in their junior and senior years.

Special Requirements

Each Scholar and their mentor will develop a project plan which requires the Provost’s approval.  Scholars and their mentors will meet with the Provost periodically to assess progress toward project goals.  Richards Scholars must present their work at the Berry Symposium on Student Scholarship and submit a mid-project and final project report.
