Week 2 wrap-up

Healthy Together Update

It’s encouraging to see the pervasive use of face coverings in public places on campus and widespread attention to physical distancing (six feet).

  • Remember these expectations apply just as much off-campus as at Berry.
  • The City of Rome currently mandates face coverings in public places – for good reason.

Thank you also for updating daily your symptom report on Medicat!

  • 75% of students and 75% of employees are reporting regularly

  • A small percentage of students stayed out late on Friday or Saturday night putting other members of campus at risk.
Please stay on campus. Social activities in town put you and your friends at higher risk than activities on campus.
  • A Berry student (without symptoms) tested positive this week. As a result, 22 other students are now quarantined for 14 days.
  • Remember: sustained contact often occurs in areas where students hang out, such as residence hall rooms and hallways, volleyball and basketball courts, and tables.
Wear face coverings and stay six feet apart as much as possible.
  • 40 other students were cited last weekend for violating the COVID-19 behavioral expectations.
  • What are the probable sanctions for violations?
    -1st time: educational intervention
    -2nd time: disciplinary probation
    -3rd time: dismissal from campus
