Ask Me About

Self-exploration – identifying your interests, skills, values, personality type – and exploring careers through LifeWorks, externships, internships, and service. Job and internship search strategies including developing application materials highlighting your strengths. Creating compelling applications to graduate and professional school. Networking and building your social capital.

ADVICE TO STUDENTS

Connect with the CPPD early at Berry – we’re here to support you every step of your journey. Be open to possibilities – learn about yourself, learn about possible careers, talk to people doing interesting things and test them out yourself. You won’t like every career you explore – that’s part of the journey toward coming to an understanding of what you do enjoy and what will be fulfilling to you. As your career evolves, continue to be open to possibilities and take the initiative to try new projects where you can learn new skills and have an impact. Be curious – continue to learn, grow and develop in your career and your life.

Childhood career ambition

To be President of the United States - but I was fortunate to find a role much more fulfilling to me - helping others find careers of meaning and purpose!

Favorite JOB AS A COLLEGE STUDENT

Working in the college law library. I developed my work ethic, time management, ability to meet deadlines and work independently while supporting a team. I also learned I didn't want to be a lawyer.

Favorite assessment tool

When I first completed the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator it opened up a whole new self-awareness for me, so I continue to love sharing the MBTI with others, along with life design. LinkedIn is fantastic for building your network and identifying potential mentors while Handshake is an amazing resource for your job and internship search.

Favorite thing about working with Berry students in Career Development

I love getting to know Berry students - what motivates them, what their commitments are, and the ways they want to make a difference - and then helping them along the path of achieving their goals and dreams.
