Fall Update for Faculty & Staff - July 31

Left Nav

Last week you received an email from Dr. Briggs sharing how we will welcome back our students, faculty, and staff in a safe way. To facilitate this transition, each community member is asked to complete a series of requirements in order to return to campus. This email outlines the required actions you need to take prior to the start of the semester.

ACTION ITEMS:
  1. Sign-up for a day and time to administer your COVID-19 test.
  2. Begin logging your symptoms daily in the Medicat health portal.
  3. Complete the online COVID-19 education module.

TESTING SIGN-UP

COVID-19 testing for faculty and staff and students who are currently on campus or will be commuting this fall will be conducted on-campus from Monday, August 3, through Friday August 7 in the Krannert Ballroom. Please check-in at the registration table located in the back atrium of the parking lot entrance.

If you are not available these days, there will be limited sign-ups available Monday, August 10 through Tuesday, August 11 in the MAC Gym. The check-in registration table for these two dates is located in the hallway on the lower level of the Cage.

The test is simple and takes just a few minutes: you spit saliva into a tube and then shake the tube. Please follow this link to sign up for a time to be tested: https://signup.com/go/DDdyMpm

Note: We are testing faculty/staff and students at separate times of the day to allow for more privacy. If you would prefer further privacy, we will also have a single-testing room, which can be requested upon arrival.

Important Reminders:

  1. Do not eat, drink, chew gum, or have any other substance in your mouth 30 minutes prior to being tested, as this could interfere with your test results.
  2. Please bring your Driver’s License or other identification with you to your test.
  3. Bring a smart phone or other internet-accessible device with camera access with you to complete the test registration upon arrival.

Please reach out to Casee Gilbert at cbgilbert@berry.edu, or (706) 238-5829, if you have any questions or concerns.

DAILY SYMPTOM TRACKER

Effective August 3, 2020, all faculty and staff (as well as students) must login daily to the Medicat online health portal to record their symptoms and temperature. Faculty and staff need to complete the symptom tracker each day PRIOR to coming to campus. This screening will continue until we are confident that the campus is healthy and stable.

The information collected in the Medicat portal is seen only by the human resources director and is protected by HIPAA. It’s important that you be honest and diligent about your daily reports.

Follow the instructions below to begin your daily symptom tracking:

  1. Go to http://health.berry.edu and login using your Berry email credentials.
  2. Click on the COVID-19 Tab.
  3. Complete the Symptoms Tracker and submit

EDUCATION MODULE

We have partnered with United Educators to provide an easy and brief online educational module. To ensure all community members are hearing and receiving the same message, we ask that you complete the following course: Your Campus and COVID-19: The Road Back.

The deadline to complete this course is August 10, 2020. To begin training, please visit Edurisk by United Educators. The first time you log in, the system will prompt you to reset your temporary password and set a security question. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful completion of the course.

Please see your email for login details.

If you have any issues accessing the course, visit the Support Portal, or click any Support Portal link on the site. You may also wish to Test Your Configuration to ensure that your computer meets all System Requirements. If the problem persists, contact me at wphipps@berry.edu.

In this time of rapid change, we want to help you focus on what you need to do to ensure a safe transition. If you have any questions, please reach out to me via email at wphipps@berry.edu or by phone at 706.290.2698.
