A presidential inauguration ceremony provides an opportunity for the college and its surrounding community to unite to celebrate the institution’s future. Faculty, staff, students and community stakeholders are all invited to attend. This event also serves to enhance the college’s visibility within the broader higher education community while continuing time-honored academic traditions, such as the procession of delegates, past and present college leadership, and faculty members. Additionally, it allows the new president to address the entire college and share their vision for the institution’s future.
All inauguration events, except where noted “invitation only,” are open to all members of the Berry community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the institution. Higher education delegates and Berry faculty and administrators are invited to participate in the investiture ceremony processional. Everyone is welcome to join President Mazumder for the Community Celebration Reception on the lawn outside, between the Krannert Center and the Cage Center, following the ceremony.
Seating for the ceremony is on a first-come, first-served basis. Remote viewing sites will be open to any person if the venue has reached capacity.
There will be livestreaming of the investiture in case you can’t attend in person.
The inauguration ceremony will take place in the Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center on Friday, April 10, at 2:30 pm. Remote viewing of the ceremony will be available via a livestream.
Business attire is recommended. The Community Celebration Reception will be held outdoors on the lawn, between the Krannert Center and the Cage Center. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
