Reading by award-winning author and actor on March 19

An award-winning writer and actor will read creative non-fiction at 7:30 p.m. March 19 in the Berry College Chapel.

Elena Passarello has essays on performance, pop culture and the natural world that have been published in Oxford American, Slate and the Iowa Review. She is a recipient of the 2015 Whiting Award, she was a finalist for in the 2014 Oregon Book Awards and won a gold medal for her work, “Let Me Clear My Throat”, at the 2013 Independent Publisher Awards

Passarello, an associate professor in the school of writing, literature and film at Oregon State University, has performed in several originating roles in premieres of “Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge” and “Wild Signs and Holler.” She was also the first woman to win the annual Stella Screaming Contest in New Orleans.

This event is free and open to the public.
