We are excited that Berry will become your home for the next four years. As a four-year residential community, we believe that the learning that takes place outside of the classroom is a complement to the lessons learned within the classroom.

Mission: Residence Life fosters a safe and inclusive learning and living environment that promotes personal and professional development.  We are an engaged community of students and staff living together to make the world better than we found it.

Vision: In supporting our fellow Vikings, we create a residential community, centered on personal wellbeing, where everyone belongs and is healthier, more successful, and better prepared to engage with a diverse and ever-changing world.

Values: As a mission-driven department, we value:

  • Community - We strive for a community connecting all community members (faculty, staff, and students) to create a sense of belonging, responsibility, and respect.
  • Tradition - Martha Berry’s philosophy connects us to our past and inspires our work today.
  • Inclusion - We value diversity and commit to sharing our authentic lives and experiences with people both similar and different.
  • Well-Being - Our goal is to work with partners across campus to promote holistic wellbeing.
  • Safety - It is our ongoing pledge to continuously assess, maintain, and implement practices and systems to keep our community safe.

The Residence Life Central Office is located in the Ladd Center and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
