When you need an objective, caring listener who is knowledgeable about human behavior, the Counseling Center is the place to go. In personal counseling, a licensed professional offers acceptance, empathy and concern. We are here to help you explore your feelings, thoughts and concerns, learn more about yourself, examine your options, overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. We can help you make choices about new behaviors and ways of thinking and feeling that contribute to more satisfying work, relationships and overall functioning.

All counselors are licensed mental health providers, but we also support students who want to work through challenges in life with self-esteem, identity, loss and decision-making. Common reasons students seek counseling include:

  • Self-esteem and Identity
  • Decision-Making
  • Interpersonal Skill Building
  • Interpersonal tensions
  • Loneliness
  • Grief
  • Depression
  • Anxiety and Stress

Currently, there are no session limits, but the Counseling Center counselors see clients on a biweekly basis in order to accommodate all students.  The Counseling Center operates on a short term model and most students see a counselor for 4-7 sessions.

If you are not sure whether counseling will work for you, come talk with us, and we'll assess your situation together. Make an appointment today by calling the Counseling Center at 706.236.2259.
